Sell The Sizzle
There are basically five ways to conduct our business:
1. On The Face
2. On Paper
3. On Line
4. On The Go
5. On With The Show

On The Face--Number 1 & 5 are basically the same - Facials and classes - this is our opportunity to let them "try before they buy."
Put it on, take it off..."Doesn't that feel great?"
Your success depends on how many faces you get this product on.
This is a simple business
If you put Mary Kay on one face every day, by a facial or just offering samples and sell 1 in 3, you would have 100 NEW CLIENTS this year!
If you did 3 classes a week with 6 guests, that would equal 18 new customers per week with 1 in 3 buying the skin care, that would equal 6 new skin care clients. You would have 300 skin care customers! Can you stand it?

By now you have 10 classes booked right? Yes ? Great! Continue! No? Stop and ask yourself, "Why not?" Then get on the phone and BOOK ~ BOOK ~ BOOK~ BOOK ~ BOOK ~ BOOK! Am I a broken record? You betcha!

On Paper - By handing out books with samples and following up, you can do a super business. Check out the Loaded Look Book. Who do you know who works with other women? Leave it in the lunchroom with a goal to pick it up in a week! When handing out cards, if you are in an area that you don't frequent often, attach your skincare, glamour samples etc. to your beauty book and follow up with the sales!

On Line - Wow!! Is this the best or what?! Your personal web site is super to keep in touch with existing customers and potential new customers. Why not ask 10 women for 10 e-mail addresses of their friends (with permission to e-mail them) so that you may send them a free facial invitation, holiday flyer etc. When you contact those 10 ladies ask them for 10 names and persmission to call which will give you 100 names for your internet files to start and so on!
I would always put a line on your e-mail telling that person if they prefer to opt out, the please return the e-mail with cancel in the subject line. That way you are not bothering someone who would rather not receive it.

Give yourself 50 points if you have a Mary Kay personal website. If you don't have one, consider getting one by going to the Intouch website and registering for one.

Begin a monthly special for your internet customers only, always referring them to your website. Give yourself 50 points if you send out a special for this week to your current e-mail list.

Promote your website by making a little flyer to put in each reorder sack. Or send it out as a postcard to your customers. You must be proactive in advertising your web address. The flyer example I'm giving was made in Publisher. You can use this example to create something for yourself in either Publisher or Word. Give yourself 50 points for making and printing several inserts promoting your website.

Most e-mail programs allow a "signature." This is something that is posted at the bottom of each e-mail--your signature. It can have your name, and any other info that you want to post. If you don't know how to add a signature, go to your e-mail "help" and search for info on signatures and learn to add one. Put an online tag line promoting your website as part of your signature on all outgoing e-mails. Send me an email showing me your tag line promoting your personal website. Give yourself 50 points for adding this signature to your e-mails.

Online classes - what a fun, fast way to do business. Have several online classes. In addition to their orders you now have referrals to follow up on! 50 points for each online class you book!

On The Go! Load up a tote bag with products or gifts wrapped for $20 - $30. Mary Kay says women always have $20 to $30 dollars to spend on instant purchases. Just think mascaras, handcream, lipstick, lipgloss, demo limited edition products, satin lips, etc....the list is endless. Why not offer specials? Buy two items and get the third half price; buy three, get the fourth one free! Be creative! SELL ~ SELL ~ SELL!!!

Print off this colorful On The Go poster to put in the window of your On The Go bag. Even though the window was designed for the Look Book, this poster has the name Mary Kay in large enough letters that people will see it. Look Books can fit behind the poster. To get the poster to fit properly in the window, trim the bottom up to the woman's lower lip.
