Alvin Thibault

I have been a court reporter for the last 34 years. My brother, Gary, and I own a free lance court reporting firm, which means we go mainly to attorneys' offices and take depositions. We do some court work, but not too much. We have six other

employees that do the same thing and we've been fortunate to keep busy over the years.

JaVee Suhr was a partner until last spring when she lost her life after being in an ATV accident. We are in the process of getting another partner to fill her place to ensure that the business will continue after Gary and I leave.

Danette, my wife, is also a court reporter for a juvenile court and has done that for 11 years. Before that she worked in the district court system and before that she worked for our company. She's a great cook to boot, so I have to exercise to keep the weight off, but I don't do that particularly well.

J.D. is our oldest son. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln December 2007. He majored in Ag science. He loves the outdoors and animals. He's not been able to get a job he likes in his field so far, but he is a foreman for Marsh Creek Concrete and he likes it very much. He works a lot of hours, so he doesn't get too much time to spend the money he makes, which is a good thing.

Alex is our youngest. He's a senior in high school and likes most any sport except basketball. He's running track right now and will play baseball on the American Legion team this year. He's good at sports and it is fun to watch him and the teams he's with. Great entertainment for all of us. He plans on going to the University of Nebraska at Omaha next year.
